Prof. Yanfang Liu

Biography:

Yanfang Liu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Wuhan University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Geographic Information Systems from Wuhan University in 2003. From January 1985 to September 1995, she worked as an assistant instructor, lecturer, and associate professor at Wuhan University of Surveying and Mapping Technology. In October 1995, she was promoted to professor through exceptional merit. Her primary research interests include regional planning, economic geography, and applied geographic information engineering. She has published over 50 academic papers in journals at various levels, with representative papers including "Land Use Structure Optimization Model Based on Ecological Green Equivalent" and "Research on Multi-Scale Dynamic Balance Model of Cultivated Land Supply and Demand." She has also authored two books: "Urban Environmental Analysis" and the national eleventh five-year plan textbook "Economic Geography: Principles, Methods, and Applications." She has led and participated in over 20 national and provincial-level research projects and related applied engineering projects, with several outcomes receiving national and provincial-level awards.
